OIL TECHNICIAN STATE EXAM PREP COURSE

(FOR FUELS 1 & 2 UP TO 15 GPH)

OVERVIEW OF TRAINING 


This is an intensive 18 hour classroom instructed course that is specifically designed to help you prepare for the Master or Journeyman’s oil burner technician state exam for fuels 1 &2 up to 15 GPH. Topics covered include Maine Fuel Board Rules and Laws, NFPA 31, the Uniform Plumbing Code, Oil Heat Technician's Manual, and additional code references as they apply. Although it is not mandatory, we recommend that you bring a copy of the Maine Fuel Board Rules and Laws, NFPA 31 (2011), and Oil Heat Technician's Manual.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND? 

This course is specifically for those individuals who are in the oil heating trade but feel unprepared, uncomfortable, or unable to pass the oil technician’s state exam to obtain their license or for anyone who is interested in learning more about the codes that govern oil heating installations.

Brad Harding

Instructor

Brad Harding owns and operates Harding’s Plumbing and Heating. He was the Plumbing and Heating Instructor at the Biddeford Regional Center of Technology (BRCOT). Prior to his teaching at BRCOT, he was the Energy Services and Technology instructor at Kennebec Valley Community College (KVCC) for four years. Brad was awarded PHCC National Instructor of the Year in 2014. The instructor is a master oil burner technician, propane and natural gas technician, master plumber, and is EPA Certified. He has a BA from USM and is a graduate of PRVTC Plumbing Program. Brad has over 35 years of field experience.
